Post Scriptum to my previous posting:

Graden (German for 'degrees' in prepositional case) = Garden (cf. Pale Fire, ll. 998-999: "Some neighbor's gardener, I guess - goes by / Trundling an empty barrow up the lane.")

Vinograd (Russian for 'grape') = vino (Russian for 'wine') + grad (German for 'degree'; Russian for 'hail'; Russian archaic for 'city'; cf. Leningrad[us])

vino = ovin (Russian for 'barn') = voin (Russian for 'warrior')

Still, I'm not sure that anagrams are as important in Pale Fire as they are in Ada.
