What's interesting is that the Tracy version is the only one that didn't
use much makeup at all. Barrymore and March did, of course. Not sure about
later versions. The Tracy version had a huge problem, though: how could
Spencer Tracy be evil? It just didn't work. An actor's ethos precedes him, in
this case.
