EDITOR'S NOTE. Dmitri Nabokov is aware of the "Potato Elf" error which
will be corrected in later printings. So far as I know, the date error
described below by Gavriel Shapiro <gs33@cornell.edu> has not been
reported previously.

Another annoying error in the recently published VN's Short
Stories: in "A Note About the Author," which follows the Appendix, Nabokov's
bith year is listed as 1889. I am wondering whether the publisher is aware
of this and other ("The Potato Elf") errors in the collection.
