Kyle Seifried just asked listmembers where/if anyone in the U.S. could
see/get a copy of the new film of LOLITA. I've been meaning to post
the same query, since I am going to be giving a paper at the American
Lit. Assoc. at the end of May comparing the reception of the novel
in the 50s with the reception of the film in the 90s. I've been
appreciative of listmembers' posting information on reviews and
reactions to the film abroad and in the U.S., and I've been keeping
up with published reviews of/reactions to the film, but clearly
my analysis of the discussion about the film would be enhanced
by my actual viewing of the film. If anyone knows any way I
could screen or get a copy of the film, I would appreciate knowing
this. I'm in northern California, but would be willing to go
down to LA/Hollywood if seeing it would be possible there but
not here. TIA for any info. Marilyn Edelstein, Associate Professor
