Without starting a defense of Freud (which no one wants, especially here), I
have a question that might have something to do with this discussion, if
only tangentially. It occurs to me that the other major 20th century theory
with which Nabokov has big problem is the whole space/time thing.
Certainly, he never stoops to personal attacks on Einstein (or the others),
but he is fairly vehement against the conflation of the time and space, etc.
Or at least, many of his character's are. Anyone have any ideas why?
