For our non-German-reading list members, and for what it's worth, here is a
quick translation of the Leonid Oknyansky post of today that gave the text
of a flyer he was given at the entrance to 'Cinema', one of the
English-speaking movie theaters in Munich.

"According to the German criminal office, every _fourth_ girl in Germany is
sexually abused by the age of 16.
The film "Lolita" cements prejudices and myths that justify and promote
sexual abuse.
The depiction of a 12-year-old girl who seduces a man is based solely on
masculine fantasies and serves the justification of sexual
exploitation/power. The instigator is shown as victim, the victim as
instigator. It is long known and proven that sexual behavior in girls that
is not commensurate with age is always a resulting symptom of already
experienced sexual abuse--and not, for example, the reason that men can't
"control themselves."
The depiction of sexual violence is not art! Under the guise of "classical
literary filmmaking" and references to "sensitive direction," the film
"Lolita" furthers the normalization of sexual abuse.
We call you to boycott this film.
Will call you to protest against this film, against all movie houses that
are showing it, and against the distribution company "Tobis Filmkunst"
(Berlin).
We call you to take a stand against sexual exploitation of girls and women."

16 Jahre alt ist sexuell missbraucht.

Missbrauch rechtfertigen und foerdern. Die Darstellung eines 12jaehrigen
Maedchens, das einen Mann verfuehrt, beruht ausschliesslich auf
Maennerphantasien und dient der Rechtfertigung von sexueller
Ausbeutung/Gewalt. Der Taeter wird als Opfer dargestellt, das Opfer als

Deckmantel "Klassische Literaturverfilmung" und dem Hinweis auf
"sensible Regiefuehrung" wird mit "Lolita" sexueller Missbrauch
salonfaehig gemacht.
