Just thought I'd respond to this, in case no one else has.

NABOKV-L is not a newsgroup; it is a mailing list run
by the Listserv software on a server at UCSB.

Newsgroups are part of USENET, which (if I can avoid
using jargon) is a network of newsgroups.

Messages/postings from mailing lists go directly to
your electronic mailbox; you have to *go to* newsgroups
to read the messages within them, using such programs
as "tin," "nn," or the newsreaders available via Netscape
or Internet Explorer (to say nothing of many other
brands of newsreaders).

Unless I'm terribly mistaken, that newsgroup has no
connection or affiliation whatsoever with this mailing list.
