Rather bemused by this not-very-fruitful discussion, I wonder if a
simple solution could put a stop to it. Why doesn't some native speaker
of Russian with a multimedia PC make a .wav file of his pronunciation of
VN's name and send it to the list as an attachment? The size of such a
file will be tiny and won't strain any server's capabilities.
