One that no one has yet mentioned: "Music", for sheer lyrical power. I
find
this one especially striking in the Nabokov oeuvre, since VN was so
unusually self-deprecating regarding his musical appreciation.
Although I must confess that I've always wished that someone would explain
the ending of "Music" to me.
