I'm not sure that the exact quotation you're looking for is in this one, but
"La Veneziana" is dedicated almost entirely to an exploration of painting vs.
writing as art. The story is a sort of painting itself, and there are several
choice bits of dialogue exploring the world of a painting as an autonomous
universe. The story is located exclusively in the new comprehensive
collection.
