Long-time subscribers will remember the saga of the Nabokov
Society's vain efforts to get a Nabokov Centennial stamp issued. Professor
Gene Bell-Villada (who discusses Nabokov in his recent book ART FOR ART'S
SAKE) informs me that the U.S. Post Office is to issue a centenary stamp
honoring another Russo-American writer of Nabokov's generation---Ms. Ayn
Rand.
