Unfortunately, I don't have on hand a copy of "Nabokov's Stories"
edited by Dmitry Nabokov, but as far as I remember, it also has the
dedication, "To Vera."

I do agree with Alexander Dolinin that dedications are not an
integral part of the texts, but particularly in Nabokov's case, we might
view things differently. The point I'm trying to make here is that the
great majority of his novels are dedicated to only one person -- Vera,
with the exception of DAR, which was dedicated to the memory of his
mother, and therefore I'm of the opinion that dedications could reveal
additional meaning to the whole <italic>oeuvre </italic>of Nabokov.
