EDITOR's NOTE. Ardis, founded by Carl & Ellendea Proffer, had strong ties
with the Nabokovs. The late Carl Proffer wrote one of the first books
about VN and, together with Ellendea, reprinted all of his Russian books
-- as well as a great deal of Nabokov scholarship. While no Nabokov
Russian novels are in stock at present, some of the scholarly material is.
Of particular interest to all NABOKV-L subscribers is the gallery of rare
