1. Does anyone happen to know whether, circa Feb. 1939, it was customary
for Cambridge dons to wear their caps and towns about town? Or just in
the colleges? Or on ceremonial occasions? At high table in the dining
halls? Etc...

2. I am re-reading brian Boyd's stunning new book on PALE FIRE. It prompts
me to the thought that it would be quite useful to have on ZEMBLA good
maps of: 1. Zembla 2. Onhava 3. New Wye, esp. the Dulwich Road area
4. genealogical tables for the different families.
These might make good student projects for VN classes, especially if you
can find a student with some experience in map-making.
