EDITOR's NOTE: The Saint Petersburg publisher SYMPOSIUM <symposium@neva.spb.ru>
has just announced publication of the third volume of its "Collected
Russian Nabokov." This edition, authorized by the Nabokov Estate, is by
far the best of all Russian Nabokov editions and should be used as the
standard edition for citation by all who write about Nabokov's Russian
works. The edition has a splendid editorial apparatus with copious
annotations by well-known Russian Nabokov specialists who are familiar
with current Western Nabokov scholarship. Individual volumes or the entire

I. Stories: Divided into uncollected and those pre-1926 stories in
Vozvrashchenie Chorba.

II. Prose Translations: 1) Romain Rolland's Colas Breugnon [NIKOLKA
PERSIK]; 2) Lewis Carroll's ANYA V STRANE CHUDES [Alice in Wonderland].

III. Poetry: All of the poetry published in VN's collections plus
uncollected items and VN's poetry translations of Seamus O'Sullivan,
Ronsard, and Baudelaire.

IV. Plays (all, with the sole exception of "Tragediya gospodina Morna")

Contents is the subject to slight change because small Nabokov texts may
continue to be discovered during the process of editing (there were two
ones yesterday). This is the final division of the volumes. The known
