For Nabokv-L:

I am a PhD student at London University in the last stages of writing a
thesis on cinema and cinematics in Nabokov's fiction. I'm planning a
research trip to New York later in the year to look at Nabokov's papers
there, but am also interested in the 94 index cards held in the Library of
Congress which Nabokov compiled whilst working on 'Lolita'. As I am going
to be short of both time and money, I was wondering whether there are any
Nabokov researchers who've seen these cards recently, who could tell me
whether they spotted any cinematic references in them, either to specific
films (e.g. Brute Force and Possessed, both mentioned in the novel) or to
the movie industry, or any details of cinematic techniques. It would be
enormously useful in helping me to decide whether to make definite plans to
visit Washington, especially since to look the cards over would probably
take me no more than a day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
