It is HOUELLEBEQUE himself who is a currently fashionable and affected
pseudo poet!
Perhaps, as in the case of certains Francais chauvinistes qui ne
comprennent pas l'Anglais and who judge Shakespeare to be "du mauvais
Racine", one must make allowances for H's hubris. Unless, of course, he
was misquoted.
It takes all sorts, alas, to make a world.
