EDNOTE. "Sinshine" is a great word. Somebody (a Californian?) should put it to
good use. The country's first motel is, BTW, the Milestone Motel, is in San
Luis Obispbo -- about 100 miles north of Santa Barbara. The word was coined in
1925 but made the dictionary only in 1950--just in time for VN's LO.

I can confirm that the word "sinshine" does not occur in "Ulysses" nor in
"Finnegans Wake".
I do not think VN used that word -but I may be mistaken.
