Dear Robert Boyle,
Hands down, the best is Boyd's two volumes. The two Russian ones are not worth reading. Field's book may have some details not in Boyd, but is also slanted due in part to his squabble with VN. Best, Don Johnson

The publication of Speak, Nabokov prompts me to ask: Is there a list of the best books about Nabokov's life and work? And, please, if so (and maybe not if so), what are they?
