This compendium of material on Professor Michael Rostovtseff, a Russian classical philologist who became a renowned historian at Yale, includes a chapter on Rostovtseff and Nabokov (pp. 290-300). Compiled by G. M. Bongard-Levin, the chapter consists almost entirely of (mostly unpublished) letters between Rostovtseff and Nabokov, as well as Nabokov's correspondence with historians Michael Karpovich and George Vernadsky. [Description adapted from a note posted by Gennady Barabtarlo to the NABOKV-L list on 20 April 1998.]
