povalusha

in some fertile parts of Estoty the izba windows of large peasant families in which up to a dozen people of different size and sex slept on one blin-like mattress were ordered to be kept uncurtained at night for the convenience of petrol-torch-flashing patrols - 'Peeping Pats,' as the anti-Irish tabloids called them (Ada, 1.21)

In Russian izba the bedroom where many people slept was called povalusha. Povalusha and vpovalku (side by side, in prone position) are related words. A character in VN's story/unfinished novel Solus Rex, the depraved Prince Adulf enjoyed, among other forms of sex, lyubov' vpovalku (group fornication).

Blin is a kind of pancake, round as the sun. Just as blind has Russian blin in it, solus (solitary) has its own sol (sun).

Solus + blind = sol + blin + sud (sud - Russ., court; trial)

NB: I'm aware of the existence of Peeping Toms and Peep-of-day boys.
