EDITORIAL NOTE. McGraw-Hill, Nabokov's publisher at the time of his death
in 1977, arranged a memorial service and tribute in New York. Several of
Nabokov's friends and his son, Dmitri, spoke briefly. Mc Graw-Hill
published their remarks in a small, handsome brochure which is now a
collector's item. Eric Roman provides a full bibliographic description
below.

McGraw says how privileged to have met such a man as
Nabokov; Appel remembers a few instants and laughs they
shared together and what Nabokov represented for him;
Moynahan expplains what drew him to Nabokov and touches on
the depth of Nabokov's art; Kazin deals with Nabokov in a
historical context, his place, his stature, personality and
beliefs. John Updike makes some critical remarks generously
adorned with extracts from Nabokov's works.
Dmitri Nabokov's small tribute reflects on his father's life and
career.
Nabokov Kazin essays are remembrances and short tributes to
Nabokov the man and Nabokov the writer
