Dmitri Nabokov on Moscow Lo premiere

Body
On 20 February 1998 Peter Kartsev in Moscow reported that Dmitri Nabokov
had just appeared live on the Russian NTV channel about the Moscow
premiere of Lyne's LOLITA, which took place on Feb. 20th. He also reported
that the film was shortly to be released on video no later then early
March and has been widely advertised in the trade magazines. He further
remarked that the Russian video version will almost certainly have bad
dubbing instead of subtitles.

Below Dmitri Nabokov responds to Peter Kartsev and provides additional
information. March 17, 1998.

Dear Peter.
I spoke on a number of programs besides that of my good friends at
NTV (where, I'm told, I was watched by 12,600,000
viewers) including live prime-time news one channel one, with the Kremlin
authoritatively backing me through a window. I also presented the
premiere, with Adrian Lyne in English with Russian titles adapted from
VN's translation as is the dubbing---actually pretty good too---on the
copy of the commercial cassettes.
