All this talk about how much of himself Nabokov put in his novels
got me thinking.
Dolores Haze is surely one of the most lively characters in fiction, and
certainly one of the most real in terms of her tastes and temperament and
pseudo-sophistication.
How could such a book be written by a college professor while out hunting
butterflies in Colorado? Isn't it a lot more credible to believe that
Vladimir Nabokov is actually a 14-year-old girl?
