1) For those without the time/inclination to search for it, here is
the text of the Yeats poem referred to in the review of _Pale Fire_ located
at http://www.wow.net/community/folio/Pale_Fire.html .

A Poet to his Beloved
by W. B. Yeats

I bring you with reverent hands
The books of my numberless dreams,
White woman that passion has worn
As the tide wears the dove-grey sands,
And with heart more old than the horn
That is brimmed from the pale fire of time:
White woman with numberless dreams,
I bring you my passionate rhyme.

2) Perhaps the most important difference between a newsgroup and this
listserv group is that this group is moderated, which allows subscribers to
remain secure in the knowledge that every message distributed via the list
will have some relevance to Nabokov or the topics swirling around our study
of him and his work.
A newsgroup, on the otherhand, is generally not moderated or
filtered in any way, and subscribership is not a prerequisite to
participation. This generally means that anyone can - and will - send
messages which are of no relevance whatsoever to the group's topic or to
its readers. In my experience, these irrelevant postings seem to be mostly
ads for pornography.
