EDITOR's NOTE. Dmitri Nabokov and William Buckley recently performed a
stage version of the famous epistolary exchange between VN and Edmund
Wilson. The (almost) full correspondence is in: THE NABOKOV-WILSON LETTERS
1940-1971, ed. Simon Karlinsky. NY: Harper, 1979). On Dec.3, 1997,
NABOKV-L subscriber Taylor kindly provided his comments on the performace.

Apropos of a Mr. Talor's touching comment on the performance of the
Nabokov-Wilson letters at the Century Club in New York:

It was truly a special evening, thanks in large part to Terry Quinn's
brilliant adaptation and direction, to a thoroughly knowledeable audience
with a sense of humor, and to Bill Buckley's superb collaboration. By the
way, it had been decided beforehand that Bill would be fairly neutral in
tone, while I would let my genetic advantage take its instinctive course.
