Dear Friends,

I am a newcomer to this discussion group, but not to Nabokov, so I am
not altogether "in the know" about every recent development regarding
his opus. My questions, then, may have come up a time or two before.

First: Have there been or are there any projects in the works to publish
a collected or selected poems volume of VN's verse? Aside from the
out-of-print POEMS AND PROBLEMS, I know of no such collection. Was his
poetic output too slim to justify a volume? What I have read, naturally,
is magnificent.
------------------------------------------
VN's Most of VN's English poetry is in the _Poems and Problems_ volume (as
well as some of the translated Russian poems. Ardis Publishers put out a
very substantial collection of the Russian poetry selected by VN shortly
before his death. The title is simply STIKHI (Poetry). There has been
rumor that Dmitri Nabokov was preparing an English edition of the Russian
poems translated by himself. Several have appeared here and there.
--------------------------------

Second: What is the status of THE ORIGINAL OF LAURA, VN's final
novel-in-progress? I have read at various times that a partial version
might be published, but this always was made to sound unlikely. Does
anyone know where this stands?
----------------------------------------------
So far as I know, that matter is still under consideration.
