Re: DN's Legal Challenge (fwd)

To a large extent, I can empathize with Dmitri's case. However, it is
ironic that he is attempting to block publication of a parody of a book
that itself was the victim of such an attempt, when it was first
published. And that, in many ways, is a parody of other works. Even more
ironic is that, if Dmitri's suit succeeds, it will stop a work whose sales
might have sparked renewed interest in the very work he is trying to
protect. "Curiouser and curiouser," as Lewis Carroll - whose "Alice in
Wonderland" VN admired - wrote.
