EDITOR's NOTE. AS announced a day or so ago, NABOKV-L will not, as a
general rule, run media (as opposed to individual) postings on the new
LOLITA, ALTHOUGH I am glad to receive comments and citations from
individual subscribers. My query about "attachments" of media items
revealed that while some subscribers are able to download and read them,
others cannot. Consequently, I shall run URL addresses and/or
bibliographic citations for any reported LOLITA film material, but not the
text itself UNLESS it is of special interest. You may send me attachments
to your postings and after skimming them, I shall pass on the citation and
either store or delete the attachment.
NABOKV-L thanks Galya Korovina fr the citation below.

Lyne's film echoes Nabokov's transforming vision: it turns Humbert's
madness into art.

This is the bottom line of a very good Lolita film review entitled
"Revisiting a Dangerous Obsession" by Caryn James in The New York Times
(Friday, July 31).
