"The Garland Companion to Vladimir Nabokov" (fwd)

Dear All:

I just purchased "The Garland Companion to Vladimir Nabokov" through Barnes
and Noble on-line books for a grand total of $43.95 ($40.00 + 3.95 for
shipping). It is indeed listed at one point for $28.00, as the "B&N"
price, but since they have to order directly from the publisher, they say,
they are charging the publisher's amount, which, they say, is $40.00. Over
on it still is listed for, roughly, $100.00. Either they are
momentarily confused, or some sort of drastic reduction has taken place. I
myself have been billed, as I said, for $43.95. Whether or not I'll get
the book in the mail (4 to 6 weeks) at that price remains to be seen.
