PS One can imagine a collection of little sequels, each from the point of
view of an alleged author of Pale Fire: Prof Kinbote, Prof Botkin, Prof
Emerald, the elder Shade, dolorous Hazel Shade (laterly enjoying literary
celebrity and a brisk social scene in the Big Apple), King Charles II,
Virginia White...
And while we're at it, wouldn't one like to hear Jack Grey's account of his
meeting, perhaps two meetings, with Kinbote?
