Fw: N.I.Kardakov
I offer you my new essay
about N.I.Kardakov, a lepidopterist who Nabokov saw in Berlin
several times in the twenties. Here is
the link: http://www.vavilon.ru/diary/001128.html

As it turned out, Kardakov was not only a lepidopterist, but
also a notable Russian bonist - namely, a person who
studies paper money as a source of historical
information. The thing is that Dieter Zimmer
who works on Kardakov's biography, doesn't think that
Kardakov was a bonist. He thinks that he was only a
lepidopterist, and there were two Nikolai Ivanovich
Kardakovs in Berlin at the time.

I wonder if there will be any responses of people to
clarify the issue.
