The first and fourth volumes of the new Polnoe sobranie sochinenii Gogolia in 23 volumes are now available for purchase. The leading Gogol scholar Yurii V. Mann is the head editor; other editors include E. I Annenkova, A. G. Bitov. S. G. Bocharov, L. D. Gromova-Opul'skaia, V, M. Guminskii, I. A. Zaitseva, I. V. Kartashova. The first volume contains 917 pages and includes "Hans Kiukhel'garten," Vechera na khutore bliz Dikan'ki, Juvenilia, klassnye sochineniia, variants, and commentaries written by I. Iu. Vinitskii, E. E. Dmitrieva, Iu. V. Mann and K. Iu. Rogov. Volume I appeared in 2001. Volume IV is scheduled to be published the summer of 2003 and will contain "Revizor" and commentary. Each large, handsome volume (bound in red) comprises 60 listki.
