Perhaps what I am about to contribute is already well known, but I just noticed it.

There is a book called Rhododendrons in America, written by an Oregon-based writer (VN spent a little time in Oregon, as we know) whose name is Ted Van Veen.

I don't recall rhododendrons figuring particularly in Ada (or at least not at all as much as in Proust), but I throw out the information on the off chance that it is interesting or important.
