Dear Friends,

"Mademoiselle O", which was originally published in 1939 in the Paris Review,
Mesures, edited by Jean Paulhan, is still available in French in "Mademoiselle
O" (a new paperback edition has just come out), the collection of short stories
published in English as "Nabokov's Dozen". It was the French publisher who
decided to change the title of the collection. Though I translated the other
stories with my wife, we naturally kept the French text (it was Vera Nabokov
who sent me a xerox copy of the text published in Mesures).

A French translation of "Easter Rain" established by Laure Troubetzkoy, was
published in the Nouvelle Revue Française in 1999, along with a reissue of
Nabokov's article on Pouchkine, originally published in French in the NRF, and
my translation of Chapter 16 of "Speak, Memory" (with an introduction by me).

Best,

Maurice Couturier
