Interesting for the images it offers of VN's Cambridge. The thumping meter and Americanisms of the translation (soccer, British, ball) grate. I was reminded of McGonagall, though that I don't blame Vladimir for that. The piece shadows Pale Fire, both diminishing and elevating it as poetry.
