CALL FOR PAPERS:
VNS at MLA 2012: Nabokov
as a Travel Writer. Whether by car, rocket, or their imaginations,
many of
Nabokov’s characters are prodigious travelers. And so, of course, was
Nabokov
himself. The theme of travel speaks loudly through all the periods,
languages,
and genres of Nabokov’s writing. It is interwoven with the crucial
issues of exile, personal as well as cultural identity, time and
timelessness.
Please submit a one-page proposal by March 1 to Galya Diment at galya@uw.edu.
Participants must be 2011 members of MLA and VNS by April 7.
