thanks for the wax info Carolyn Kunin.  I am not Mr. by the way, I point out since you chose for it to matter.  So, it's the (red) sealing wax connection, and not the cloudy surface texture that waxes any color and reflects light wax-ily or in waxish ways.  Where did you find this info?  The dulled or pearlized or nacreous luminosity of the waxwing I imagined must now alter, as well as the particular quality of thud of a waxed surface into glass.
