Hi Nabokov-L list members,

I'm Apolline. I'm writing a dissertation about the relation between
literature and painting in TOoL. Reading TOoL, I found some references to
different artists and paintings. I don't know if anybody recognizes any of
these references? Can anybody tell me why Nabokov would mention them?

- Lev Linde, Flora's grandfather, should be the rather unsuccessful
painter of painting like "April in Jalta" or "The Old Bridge".(chapter two)
- a polish artist Rawitsj (chapter five)
- the painting "Glandscape" from Glist (p.25)
He also mentions the name Nigel D[a]lling (p.135)

Does anybody had a clue?
This would really help me in elaborating my dissertation.
Thanks!!!
