Don Johnson reports:

Just back after being evacuated for 8 days. Miraculously, our
house is more or less OK, although  the holocaust came within inches
on all four sides. Many houses in the immediate area went up. The
house is full of ashes and soot and a five-man crew is laboring to
make it habitable. A week about. No phones, cable, computer hook in
the near future.
My Nabokov collection is intact and I am planning to send it to the
S-P Museum when things cool off.
