Dear Jansy and Dear Scouse,

Habanera, be damned! I needs most humbly and publicly beg both your pardons -- despite the apparent mathematical logic of "prends garde deux trois" the libretto actually says "prends garde a toi." However,

I have jamais jamais jamais heard it sung that way, but I accept my error and I hope you'll excuse me while I go throw myself under a bus or something.

a jamais!
Carmenolyn

p.s. In researching the words to Bizet's famous Havanese song I discovered that in Merimée's Carmen the tale is written by Don Jose, in jail awaiting execution for the murder of Carmen. If I ever knew that, I had forgotten. Adios!
