I am studying Nabokov’s forewords, and while reading the one to The Eye I had a hazy recollection of the sentence below being opened by a typical Lenin-phrase, but, I simply can’t remember where I’ve read that. Can anyone, please?:

“As is well-known (to employ a famous Russian phrase), my books are not only blessed by a total lack of social significance, but are also mythproof” (The Eye 9)
