I'll bet you got the erroneous spellings from one of the
mentions in Wikipedia, which is wonderful but not immune to
the occasional slip (including, at least in one instance, the spelling
of my first name).
As you illustrate, Portuguese and Italian can take analogous
adjectival forms.
