Dear Forum,

I have been put under contract to complete a new academic study on Nabokov.  Perhaps other members of the forum, many of them distinguished authors,  could advise me.  I believe that my use of concise quotes from six of Nabokov's  novels would easily fall  within the parameters of 'fair use'   However, I of course wish to be absolutely scrupulous in my use of Nabokov's work and shall contact any relevant body anyway. I have consulted thePenguin website re permissions advice and they mention a literary agency (Smith Skolnick of New York) .  Does anyone know whether this agency is the one to consult?  Alternatively, does anyone know whether one should more properly approach the Nabokov Estate? If so, does anyone know the contact details of the estate? Many thanks for your assistance.
Best Wishes
Michael Glynn/
