Greetings

For whatever reason I've never noticed this before, but VN states in the Foreword to The Defense that he started writing the book in spring 1929 and finished it later that same year - that's eight months at the most. Wow! That's incredibly fast, isn't it? Given that most writers take years to finish a novel. Does anyone else know the time it took to write the others? I know that Ada took a number of years, but was it also his longest. Did he get slower as he got older (though when older he had more time to devote to writing - presumably)? How long did it take him to write Mary, three weeks?
