Referring to the 'aiguillon rouge' you added: "my guess is that the name was inspired by appearance only, and is as innocent of function as the peak called Sex Rouge on the Diablerets or the clitoris".  I gather that, in this  case, the innocent catterpillar is only "cunning stunt" (  TT, Penguin,pg 38 ) . 
I hope that  the RTR-Planeta TV interview was a success. Can we gain access to it somehow?
