However, I can state that when I graded for Ellmann at Yale in his Spring 1970 class on the Modern British, Irish, and American novel, we did spend one week on PALE FIRE (or would have, if there hadn't been a campus-wide strike on behalf of the Black Panthers before we got to Nabokov). Incidentally, we spent 6 of the 14 weeks of the course on ULYSSES. Hemingway and Fitzgerald got just one week, together.
