Lyrik and polemik

New of Vladimir Nabokov in Russian text editions

After Vladimir Nabokov in the former Soviet Union as <antikommunistischer Demagoge> and <dekadenter Pornograph> geh?rt he was w?hrend decades from any Publikationsm?glichkeit excluded today to in Russia the usually-printed, most-discussed, also usually-imitated authors 20.   Century. Don't only lie since the turn of 1991 numerous work and individual outputs of Nabokov forwards (under it s?mtliche novels and Erz?hlungen of the <amerikanischen> Period in Russian?bersetzung), also the Sekund?rliteratur - biographic, critical, Poetologi, philosophical - increased in the meantime to an extensive library, which and recently also the western research valuable impulses is permanently extended gives.

Such impulses proceed primarily from editorischen enterprises. New texts of the author are brought again and again to the light, and works already ver?ffentlichte appear in new, sorgf?ltig compiled and souver?n commentated expenditures, whose scientific apparatuses actually already become the exciting Lekt?re k?nnen. This is the case with two text editions completely different art. F?r the renowned?Neue library of the poet available in Russia since short? M has.   E. Malikowa the entire lyric work gegenw?rtig capable of being developed Nabokovs herausgeberisch cares for and united to a handy volume (<Stichotvorenija>, Sank Petersburg 2002), which enth?lt together with accurately 597 poems approximately 100 sides comment as well as, as eigenst?ndigen research contribution, an extensive preface.

That volume brings not alone the poems published collected by Nabokov individually and to the casting, but for the first time also that one, those as lyric Versatzst?cke into its Erz?hlwerke (?Tschorbs R?ckkehr?, gift? u.   A.) were received. In addition come - with exception of the large-scale Poems?Fahles fire? from the novel of the same name - all in English language written and everything into the Russian as also from Russian?bersetzten poems. From the Russian one Nabokov?bersetzt in particular Lermontow, Tjuttschew and Puschkin, the latters both in English and in Franz?si; among the authors, whom it brought into its native language, are Shakespeare and Goethe, Ronsard, Baudelaire and Rupert Brooke. As a poet Nabokov was so far hardly noticed, perhaps, because he the modern trend consistently refused and rather with classical models angekn?pft, which he with sometimes pedantisch working eagerness, even if with h?chstem understanding of art copied.

Only Nabokovs Lyrik, also its numerous interviews, which it always in writing prepared and to eigenst?ndigen text places developed, did not find so far no broader readership, although they - enriched with anecdotes, Invektiven, Kalauern, ingeni?sen self comments and risky confessions - are to be read throughout maintenance SAM, apart from the fact that they have certainly to be considered as the most important aggregate of the Nabokov' Poetik. Scarcely two dozen of these interviews has the writer in strongly drawn up version under the title?Strong opinions? (1973) combined into a reader, now N puts twice as many.   G. Melnikow in a Russian expenditure for book forwards (?Nabokov o Nabokove?, Moscow 2002), whose unsch?tzbarer preference/advantage consists of the fact that - world-wide for the first time - all between 1932 and 1977 Gespr?chstexte in original text shape, appeared, reprinted and with detailed Erl?uterungen will provide. The interviews are erg?nzt by a set of hardly well-known, z.   T. v?llig forgotten essay and reviews, which Nabokov wrote starting from 1940 as casual labours in English language; in addition geh?ren except a pityless tear of Jean Jean-Paul Sartres?La Naus?e? and a sharp?bersetzungskritik at Robert Lowell also Nabokovs reflections more??ber the inspiration sp?te?, in those, as so often with this author, who polarize-mixes and who together-finds lyric energy in unmistakable way.
