The above is a link to my long blog post on an extraordinary
intersection between the writing of Jane Austen and Vladimir Nabokov,
having to do with hidden acrostics in their respective fictions. Along
the way, I point to an important Shakespeare connection, and at the end,
I point out how this is all also connected to the Polanski film The
Ghost Writer---which, I hope, will receive Oscar nominations for Best
Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay when the nominations
are announced in 11 days--and the novel by Robert Harris which it so
closely follows, entitled The Ghost.
