Dear Matt,

I greatly appreciate your contributions - but - as far as I see,
you singled out this Pope's translation because of the expression
"Pale Fire" met there. Isn't it one of the first things to check -
was this expression (or its equivalent) be already present in the
original text (Greek?). Pope might be influenced by Shakespeare.

And Jansy -

are the search engines (google) working with English so reliable
when we discuss old texts? (Greek? Latin?)
